Disabled - Hope House offers an array of services for children and adults with intellectual disabilities autism and mental health needs.
Hope house. More than thirty years ago we opened our doors with one goal in mindsave lives by providing safe refuge for those affected by domestic violence. Hope House is a Christian organisation that is passionate about welcoming people of all races religions and cultures to seek care and counselling with us. A ministry of Holy Cross Episcopal Church we offer a positive environment for our neighbors to take showers do laundry receive mail make phone calls.
Initially many parents and family members of the 120 people Hope House supports were too. We offer services and programs that challenge the stigmas surrounding poverty and allow our community members to maintain their dignity and choice while simultaneously providing them with tactile skills developed in a community environment creating long-term. That promise began to be fulfilled twenty years later when in October of 1973 Donnalee Velvick-Lowry took home her first child in need.
We offer counselling addictions support and training to the people of Cape Town South Africa. Our trauma-informed recovery program offers support tools and growth opportunities to women who are working towards becoming substance-use free. Hope House is where recovery lives.
Hope House Marion believes that providing people in recovery with safe structured and stable living environments is the key to making Marion a better community. Hope House began with a promise made by a little girl herself abandoned and a victim of abuse neglect and family dysfunction who vowed that someday she would make a home where children like herself could be loved and cared for. Youth in Crisis in The southwest suburbs of the twin cities On January 4 2016 the Open Hands Foundation opened a home for youth in crisis called The Hope House to meet the emergency shelter support and counseling needs of youth in crisis.

Hope House is proud to be recognized by BlueCross BlueShield as the first facilities in Maryland to receive the Blue Distinction Center for Substance Use Treatment and Recovery designation. Recognition as a Blue Distinction Center for Substance Use Treatment and Recovery differentiates providers locally as well as nationally. Hope House Marion is opening in March of 2020 and will provide sober living environments for both men and women.
